Today I am finishing writing the book on eduction for teacher trainees in Malaysia. I started by helping my friend, Ragbir kaur update her guide book.
Book writing and publishing is no easy task. You will never spot all the mistakes even if you read the text several times!

Sharing My ICT Experience

How do you feel when you leave your job that you love on retirement? Suddenly I realised that I wasn't going to have any students to train in computers /Internet in the classroom! That was a very lousy feeling, indeed! That was how I felt in mid 2005 when I left the government service after almost 28 years of doing the best thing I could do, teaching and lecturing!

For several months after retirement I volunteered to do computer training for teachers in a nearby district for free! I enjoyed each day going to the training centre, staying there the whole day sharing with teachers the computer skills that I have acquired over 15 years in the training college. It was awesome!

In 2006 I didn't have much to do. Many people, especially those working, used to envy me. Yes, I didn't have to rush to work and clock in at 8 a.m. I disliked the laborious paper work, and unending meetings that I had to attend, at times even at the expense of my teaching time.

Then between May and September I had 4 weeks of integrating computers into the classroom training for lecturers in the teacher training colleges around the country. I really loved going back and doing this. I realise if you are passionate about something you really do a great job of it!

Now I am back to square one with nothing to do! There may be many opportunities for me out there but I fear that I will not succeed if I tried it alone. And so I never get started! Is there anyone out there who felt this way and got out and took action! How can I be strong in mind to build the courage to do something on my own?
